Why write about technology?

Natural light. Air quality. The layout of a room.
We humans are sensory creatures, affected by our environment, by things unobserved.

Noise. Ambiance. Aesthetics.
Some appreciate these small things; others swear by them, still some pay them no mind.

Microplastics. Sleep scores. The ozone layer.
But who can know all there is to know? Declare me innocent from hidden faults.

There are infinite ways of being, of knowing and not knowing, of thinking, believing, and acting;
technology is a medium for this, but it is not the end.

Technology is a medium for society and all of its complexity.
Technology as a medium is part and parcel of our formation.

I do not write about technology because I love it.
Like aesthetics, like sleep, like the ozone layer, the medium can disappear as we focus on what is beyond it.

What is beyond?
That is why we write about technology.
