The paradox of limitation

There is a time to be born, and a time to die …
a time to break down, and a time to build up …
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together.

The history of the human race is one of patterns. Despite our propensity to think that our generation is the first to experience that, or I am the only to experience this, we are hardly unique. There is nothing new under the sun.

Our lack of uniqueness does not make us insignificant. The flip side of the same coin is that we are all connected, part of the same story, playing a different part if we have the eyes to see it.

This is the paradox of our limitation — although there is nothing new, it’s new to us, and in that newness, we find our agency.
