On Slowness

March 12, 2025

There's a particular kind of attention that only arrives when you stop trying to capture the thing. You have to let it come to you.

I've been sitting with this idea for a while now — the way urgency tends to repel the very things we're after. The best photographs I've taken happened when I put the camera down. The best sentences came when I stopped writing for the day.

Slowness isn't about doing less. It's about allowing space for the thing to reveal itself. It's a discipline, not a luxury.
